BRAZEN BURGLARS BUSTED!

Here’s an update on burglary locally.

At approximately 0300hrs on FRIDAY 17TH JULY 2026, officers from ERPT B, who had a Tooting Broadway SNT officer staffing up for the night, responded to reports of a suspected burglary at a jewellery shop on Mitcham Road, SW17.

Officers arrived promptly and secured the premises. On searching the location, they discovered two burglars in the process of creating a hole through a wall leading into the jewellery shop. The suspects had gained entry to the neighbouring business and were attempting to break through the adjoining wall to access the jeweller's premises.

Thanks to the swift response and effective actions of the attending officers, both suspects were detained before they could complete the burglary and gain access to the jewellery shop. A third suspect was later arrested for their involvement. All 3 suspects were charged and remanded to court where they pled guilty.

An excellent piece of work by all officers involved, resulting in the prevention of a significant burglary and the arrest of two offenders.
